Public consultations
Given the importance, complexity and sensitivity of some of the topics it has to address, ANSES sometimes decides to enhance its work by bringing its expert appraisal reports to the attention of members of the scientific and medical community, representatives of associations and leaders of professional organisations.
This leads the Agency to launch public consultations. All the contributions it receives are made public and analysed in depth as part of the process of drafting its recommendations. Sometimes this consultation is a legal requirement. This is the case with OELs, which are regularly the subject of consultations.
The Agency also assesses chemical products in the framework of the European REACH and CLP regulations on chemicals; prioritising, identifying and compiling dossiers in support of the competent French authorities. Its classification proposals are submitted for public consultation on the website of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
