Toxicovigilance of plant inputs, biocides and veterinary medicinal products
Thematic Working Group
The Working Group (WG) on "Toxicovigilance of plant inputs, biocides and veterinary medicinal products" reports to the Expert Committees (CESs) on "Plant protection products: chemical substances and preparations" and "Biocidal substances and products".
ANSES is responsible for assessing plant protection products (PPPs), fertilisers & growing media, biocides and veterinary medicinal products before they can be placed on the market.
The WG on "Toxicovigilance of plant inputs, biocides and veterinary medicinal products" is only concerned with the effects on human health of these three categories of regulated products and has the following missions: analyse data extracted from the French poison control centres' National Database of Poisoning Cases (BNCI) and other sources; produce summaries in relation to the data in the assessment dossier; make recommendations to reduce risks as necessary; coordinate and promote reporting of the adverse effects of PPPs from poison control centres and their analysis with a view to using them in phytopharmacovigilance; detect emerging signals reflecting the risks associated with the use of these products; contribute to the response to formal requests relating to regulated products, when these fall wholly or partly within the field of human toxicology.
